Dr. Jennifer Prendki is the founder and CEO of Alectio, the first startup fully focused on DataPrepOps. She and her team are on a fundamental mission to help ML teams build models with less data. Before Alectio, Jennifer was the Vice President of ML at Figure Eight. She also built an entire ML function from scratch at Atlassian and led multiple Data Science projects on the Search team at Walmart Labs. She is recognized as one of the top industry experts on Active Learning and ML lifecycle management. She is an accomplished speaker who enjoys addressing both technical and non-technical audiences.
David Sweet was a quantitative trader at GETCO, where he used experimental methods to tune trading strategies, and a machine learning engineer at Instagram, where he experimented on a large-scale recommender system. He is currently writing a book called "Tuning Up," an extension of lectures given at NYU Stern on tuning high-frequency trading systems. Before working in the industry, he received a Ph.D. in Physics and published research in Physical Review Letters and Nature. The latter publication – an experiment demonstrating chaos in geometrical optics -- has become a source of inspiration for computer graphics artists, undergraduate Physics instructors, and an exhibit called TetraSphere at the Museum of Mathematics in New York City.
Alba Cervera-Lierta is a postdoctoral researcher at the Alán Aspuru-Guzik group at the University of Toronto. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Barcelona in 2019. Her background is in particle physics and quantum information theory. She has focused on quantum computation algorithms in the last years, particularly those suited for noisy-intermediate scale quantum computation.
Admond is currently a Data Scientist at Micron focusing on Smart Manufacturing and AI. With his degree in Physics, Admond discovered and pursued his passion in data science and never looked back ever since. He is also an independent data scientist and consultant helping companies and digital marketing agencies achieve their marketing ROI using advanced social analytics and machine learning. Being a passionate writer who writes about data science, his data science work and experience have been featured by various publications, including KDnuggets, Medium, Tech in Asia, AI Time Journal and local business magazine.
Martina is a physicist and works as Data Science Lead at Mallzee, based in Edinburgh (Scotland). She loves looking at data regardless of the topic and area and believes the most enjoyable thing in Data Science is analyzing your data, finding the one you need for your question, and producing facts out of it. Throughout her education and job experience, she worked with data in epidemic dynamics, linguistics, and fashion. She also loves producing hand-crafted data visualizations and keeps studying and improving, whether it’s about Machine Learning or leadership topics.
